Do you want to be in the band??

Welcome! We are so excited that you want to be a part of the 2024 GMMS Band Experience! 

The Band Experience is your chance to be the rock star 🎸🎶🎙 you always wanted to be! This is your chance to be the band, learn to play music with others, work with teachers on creative arrangements of popular songs, and get out into the community to perform.

Participants must be at least 10 years old.
Applications to participate in the program are due by January 10, 2024. You will be notified of acceptance and placed in a band by January 20.

REHEARSING:

• Each band will have 4 sixty minute rehearsals between January 20 and May 1 (roughly one every 3 weeks).

• There will be two more sixty minute rehearsals scheduled in May, June, or July in preparation for the GMMS Fest performance.

• There will be one final sixty minute rehearsal in preparation for Porchfest.

• We encourage bands to get together on their own for additional practice time.

PERFORMANCES:

• Student bands will participate in a local open mic night in May.

• Each band will be scheduled for a mini-set at one of the GMMS Fest's over the summer. 

• GMMS will host porch during Porchfest in September in which all bands will play another mini-set. 

Participation in The Band Experience costs $50/month and runs a total of 9 months - January through September.
